COVID 19: The Current Situation at EJEF
We hope our clients and former students as well as their family members are keeping well.
We had to close our Lane End Conference Centre (LECC) and EJEF following the UK Government guidelines in relation to Coronavirus from the 23rd March 2020.
Today, more than two months later on the 27th May, we are still in lockdown but I would like to let you know our plans for our reopening of EJEF, which we are hoping to be on Monday the 6th July.
We are discussing ways and means of protecting our students as well as our tutors and we would like everyone at EJEF to adhere to the following regulations:
*Both students and tutors/staff to wear a face mask
(please kindly bring your own face masks)
*Tutors to wear a face shield during lessons
*Both students and tutors/staff to keep a record of their body temperature twice a day (we have purchased a gun type non-contact infrared thermometer)
*Pay attention to social distancing (we shall be using large-sized classrooms)
*Make sure windows in classrooms are open
*Wash hands regularly
*Use hand sanitisers, which will be placed in every classroom
At present in the UK, people are not even allowed to visit their own parents or relatives if they do not live together. If this rule is not eased before we reopen on the 6th July, homestay accommodation would not be an option.
We would, therefore, be using bedrooms at our LECC (www.lane-end-conferences.co.
*Homestay accommodation fees are £175.35 per week including every breakfast and evening meals during weekdays.
*LECC accommodation fees are normally £90 per night on a bed and breakfast basis. However, we would be subsidising this and the fees will be £45 per night (£315 per week) for EJEF students. Rooms are en suite single study bedrooms.
Evening meals and lunches can be made available but we will have to charge you for these. All meals will be prepacked in individual packages and delivered to your door or to EJEF lounge.
Even when the lockdown situation has been relaxed, we would ask students not to go to London or any crowded places at any time especially using public transport. There are many lovely areas around Lane End where you could go for a long walk enjoying the English countryside and nature. You can also enjoy playing tennis (singles only) and footgolf and go jogging on the LECC fitness trail.
The UK regulation of “14 days’ self-isolation for anyone entering the UK, bar a short list of exemptions” is going to start on the 8th June and it is going to be reviewed every three weeks. I am hoping very much that this regulation will be lifted after the initial three weeks and that the 14 days of self-isolation will not be needed from the 29th June onwards.
In the meantime, should anyone be interested in taking our online lessons, we would be able to offer lessons from the 22nd June onwards. Two or three sessions x 50-minute session per day are possible and fees are £40 per 50-minute session. All sessions will be on a one-to-one basis.
Please take very good care of yourselves and stay safe.
With best wishes,
